Bottom line is that this is a very good book though. For those more into the fantasy and steampunk genres than me when it comes to books it is probably a great book. Continue reading Into the Storm – Good book from a Great author.
All in all a very good book that has a lot of things to like, at least as far as I am concerned, in it. Continue reading Sword of Mars – Another good one.
A solid four star book and obviously this series stays on my will-definitely-read shelf. Continue reading UnArcana Stars – Another good book in the series.
With 2022 gone here is a clean up with short reviews of the last books that I read in 2022. Continue reading 2022 clean-up.
Christopher Nuttall is one of my top favorite authors. With this particular book he is starting a new series and it is a really good start indeed. Continue reading The Chimera Coup – This was a really good start of a new series.
The story is more of a swashbuckling adventure than a regular science fiction story and that is what kept me reading. Continue reading Galactic Guardians books 1 to 3 – Borderline young adult but I enjoyed them anyway.
I am quite happy that I finally started to read this series despite being hesitant about it as I wrote in my review of the first book in the series. Continue reading Hand of Mars – Another good sci-fi/fantasy book in the series.
Overall, this is a solid four star book and this series goes onto my to-be-continued shelf. Continue reading Starship’s Mage – I quite liked this book.
This was weird reading. I am almost ashamed to say that I found these books rather fun to read despite the fact that, in terms of science fiction these are really bad books. At the best books can be called science fantasy and young adult ones at that. Continue reading From Far Beyond books 1 to 4 – Bad but amazingly enough somewhat fun read.
The blurb for this book sounded cool but maybe I should have been more careful when said blurb tried to profit from the Tolkien name with nonsensical statements like “Tolkien meets Shock and Awe”. This book simply didn’t work for me. Continue reading Forgotten Ruin – This one did not work for me.
This book started out quite well and then went downhill to end with a really crappy ending. Continue reading Cold as Hell – Started okay, ended really crappy.
This was a decent enough book but it was far from the best in the series. Continue reading A Dragon’s Dare – Decent but no more.
I quite liked the first book in this series, enough to give it four stars, which is probably why I suffered through it, in some vain hope of getting another one of those four stars books. Sadly it never happened. Continue reading Witch of the Federation VI – Meh, this series was a bit of a waste of time.
This is a very good book. It’s as well written as one would expect of a book with Larry Correia’s name on it. Not surprisingly this is a series I will continue. Continue reading Servants of War – Another good book from my favorite author.
Quite frankly it was about time this series ended. I think it’s time for Michael Anderle to stop rushing out mediocre books and instead sit down and think about, and think through, some new ideas. I would like to see some new books at the same level of wow factor as the original Kurtherian series and the Brownstone series. Continue reading Checkmate – About time this series ended actually.
This is the second book in the Backyard Starship series and I have to say that our main protagonist, Van Tudor, and his merry band of adventurers as well as the story itself grows on me. Continue reading Red Bounty: Van Tudor and his merry band of adventurers grows on me.
Overall the story is a enjoyable light read perfectly suitable for some evening reading while relaxing in front of the TV with some equally light TV-show on the screen. Continue reading Earth Bound: Another new light story from Michael Anderle.
These three books in the Boundary Series was are quite different from the first three books. They are still good reading but I’m afraid that, to me, they are quite far from the five star rating I gave the first three. Continue reading Boundary Series 4-6: Good but not as good as the first three books.
This is the third book in the Grand Central Arena series and the third one to score 5 out of 5 stars from me. This series is just great! Continue reading Challenges of the Deeps: This series keeps being great.
Wow, this is a great second book in the Grand Central Arena series. I’m really happy that I jumped on this series thanks to a recommendation from one of my favorite authors. Overall, this is one of the most well written and captivating book series that I have read in a long time. Continue reading Spheres of Influence: Great second book in Grand Central Arena.
Science Fiction / Fantasy crossover stories can be quite fun read if it is done well. Unfortunately this one is not. Continue reading The Valiant: Quite a disappointment.
This was a pleasant surprise indeed. This is one of those books that left me with a WOW that was great feeling after the last page. Continue reading Grand Central Arena: One of The Best Books I’ve Read In A Long Time.
