Slip Runner books 1 to 3 – Pretty decent sci-fi adventure.
Overall the books have a nice mix of dialogue, action, discoveries, twists and other “glue” tying the story together. It is not exactly a WOW experience but it is a decent enough science fiction adventure and I have enjoyed reading these first books in the series. Continue reading Slip Runner books 1 to 3 – Pretty decent sci-fi adventure.

Witch Warrior books 4 to 7 – Okay but…
Overall this series is an okay read. But… that’s about it. It is puttering along at a steady pace and each book is more or less more of the same. This can be good or bad. Good if the books are really good but these books are not really really good. They are just okay. Continue reading Witch Warrior books 4 to 7 – Okay but…

Fortune Furlough – Murderously fun vacation.
Overall a fun read. I really like the trio, their interactions and their adventures. Fortune herself has become more competent in her new role and less slapstick. Ida Bell was kicking ass from the start and Gertie… well Gertie and her explosive handbag is… Gertie. Continue reading Fortune Furlough – Murderously fun vacation.

Calamity Awakening – Okay quick read.
This was a okay book but just barely. Continue reading Calamity Awakening – Okay quick read.

Into the Breach – Another great book in this series.
This is the 15th book in the Empire Rising series and it is the third straight five star book in that series. At least for me but then maybe I am a bit biased since this series is my favorite type of reading. Continue reading Into the Breach – Another great book in this series.

A Tangled Fate – The best book so far in this series.
If I should sum up the book, the entire series actually, it would be: Decent urban fantasy story with good action, very likable characters and quite enjoyable dialogue. Continue reading A Tangled Fate – The best book so far in this series.

The Magi Saga books 3 to 7 – That was pretty bad.
Well, that was pretty bad actually. I have to confess that, after book three, I was more or less speed reading to get to the end. Continue reading The Magi Saga books 3 to 7 – That was pretty bad.

Into The Real – Fun read if you are a gamer.
If you are, or used to be, a gamer you will probably like this book. If not, well you might still like it but the story is really one for gamers. Continue reading Into The Real – Fun read if you are a gamer.

Strange World – Fairly decent (for being a Disney movie today).
For being a Disney movie made today (2022) this is a fairly decent one. Continue reading Strange World – Fairly decent (for being a Disney movie today).

Black Wings – Meh!
Overall this series are moving towards the I-might-read-another-book-sometime-maybe-if-I-am-bored zone. Continue reading Black Wings – Meh!

Hammered – Fairly average urban fantasy.
I cannot say that it is really bad, I did enjoy reading this book, but it is certainly not something that made me eager to read the next installment either. Having said that the book had some positive points so I probably will indeed read at least one more book in the series. Continue reading Hammered – Fairly average urban fantasy.

2022 clean-up.
With 2022 gone here is a clean up with short reviews of the last books that I read in 2022. Continue reading 2022 clean-up.

Bye bye 2022.
Well, that’s it. 2022 is gone and now I have to remember to write 2023 instead. That probably take a month or so as usual. Continue reading Bye bye 2022.

A Reluctant Druid – Fairly decent first book.
Well, this was a fairly decent first book in this new (for me at least) urban fantasy series. Continue reading A Reluctant Druid – Fairly decent first book.

The Grand Conspiracy – Not my cup of tea.
Unfortunately I suspected that this installment in The Last Hunter series would not be my cup of tea and I was right. Continue reading The Grand Conspiracy – Not my cup of tea.

Echoes of Empire – A few bad points but still a very enjoyable installment in the series.
This is the 11th installment in the Backyard Starship series and, although there are starting to appear signs that the series should perhaps conclude or change the main story arc to something new and fresh, it is still a quite enjoyable read. Continue reading Echoes of Empire – A few bad points but still a very enjoyable installment in the series.

Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio – Not bad.
I do indeed have some reservations about the theme used in the movie but overall it was a good movie. Continue reading Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio – Not bad.

Bullet Train – This was a fun movie.
Overall it was a fun movie with a lot of laughs. The end twist with the tangerine truck was absolutely hilarious. Continue reading Bullet Train – This was a fun movie.

Summer’s End – Decent but not at all the best seller Amazon and other sites try to make it.
Well, I have to say that I did enjoy this book. BUT it is far from the best seller book that Amazon and a few other sites seems to want it to be. Continue reading Summer’s End – Decent but not at all the best seller Amazon and other sites try to make it.

Allies and Enemies – This was a quite good book in the series.
I think this is the best book so far in the series although I almost removed half a star for the ridiculously long book blurb. Seriously? It is more of a synopsis than a book blurb. Continue reading Allies and Enemies – This was a quite good book in the series.

Before Christmas clean-up.
So since I have some time between the preparations this Sunday it is time for a backlog clean-up so I do not start Christmas with an already large backlog. Continue reading Before Christmas clean-up.

The Chimera Coup – This was a really good start of a new series.
Christopher Nuttall is one of my top favorite authors. With this particular book he is starting a new series and it is a really good start indeed. Continue reading The Chimera Coup – This was a really good start of a new series.

Fratricide – Didn’t really like this one.
I did not really like this book. The story is simply pretty bad. Continue reading Fratricide – Didn’t really like this one.

Galactic Guardians books 1 to 3 – Borderline young adult but I enjoyed them anyway.
The story is more of a swashbuckling adventure than a regular science fiction story and that is what kept me reading. Continue reading Galactic Guardians books 1 to 3 – Borderline young adult but I enjoyed them anyway.
