This is a Michael Bay movie. I could probably stop the review here because that says all about the movie. Lots of special effects and a mediocre story at best. Continue reading Ambulance – What idiot wrote that script?
I am quite a fan of Jason Statham so I am perhaps a bit biased when it comes to movies he is in but, to me, this was a great action thriller. I very much like Statham playing the silent, mysterious tough guy role. He is perfect in this role. Continue reading Wrath of Man – Great action thriller.
It is not at all a bad movie. It is quite surrealistic and it does indeed take some time to figure out what is really going on. The landscape in which the main protagonist finds himself is weird, depressing and beautiful at the same time. I have to say that I found the special effects quite well done. Continue reading Coma: Not bad actually.
Let’s make one thing perfectly clear. This is a movie you watch for the action and not much less. But then, that not really a surprise is it? Continue reading John Wick 3 Parabellum: Great although rather unrealistic action.
In short the movie is a mix of heavy metal, horror, violence and psychedelic weirdness and I would say that the audience for this movie is a quite small group of people. I’m not really sure that I am in that group. Continue reading Mandy -Weird, psychedelic and somewhat enjoyable.
This is a bit of a strange movie. Part of it feels like a pretty good, dark and gritty thriller, part of it feels like a wannabe Tarantino movie and part of it feels like a comedy. Overall I would classify it as a B-movie but a pretty good B-movie. As strange as the movie is I have to say that I liked it. Continue reading Polar: Strange mix of thriller and comedy.
As a movie it is not too bad but as a Hercule Poirot movie, the classical Murder on the Orient Express no less, it is like buying a piece of prime filet of beef and discovering that the butcher gave you chicken drums when you open the package. Continue reading Murder on the Orient Express (2017): Why?
This is not a James Bond movie! It is a bloody Hollywood drama written by someone with a total lack of respect for the Franchise, not to mention the old Bond fans. My disappointment with this movie cannot be overstated. Continue reading Skyfall: This is not a Bond movie!
I expected a fairly shallow over the top action flick with a sexy but not very bright kick-ass chick as the main protagonist. To my surprise I got something quite a bit more than that. Sure the movie is quite “Hollywoodish”, it is supposed to be a action movie after all, but it is surprisingly well done and Charlize Theron is great as the sexy, not at all stupid and very much kick-ass chick. Continue reading Atomic Blond: Good solid cold war spy action
The movie is quite a low budget one. I can live with that. It is also quite dark. I can live with that as well. Unfortunately I found it to be a slow, boring, illogical and stupid mess. Continue reading The Machine: Unoriginal, abysmal mess.
Not your average revenge/slasher movie. The plot is simple enough, perhaps a bit illogical at times, but it is wonderfully implemented from a cinematic point of view. Personally I found the movie beautiful. Continue reading Final Girl: Not your average revenge/slasher movie, I liked it.
When Jason Statham is good he is very good. In this movie I think he is very good as the silent, deadly killer for hire. It is a straightforward killer/action/thriller. The story is nothing new but it is a well working story which is nicely executed. Continue reading The Mechanic: Good hardass killer thriller.
When I first saw this movie I did not like it at all. My main gripe with the movie was (and is) that it did not feel like a Mission Impossible movie. Now when I watched it for the second time with my son I actually liked it a lot more. I still think it is sad that the script writers felt they had to introduce all these chock elements but trying to look past those this is a pretty good movie. Continue reading Mission Impossible I – I liked it better now than when I watched it the first time.

Blitz by Elliot Lester on Cine+ Premiere (CanalSat) My rating: 5 out of 10 stars A tough cop is dispatched to take down a serial killer who has been targeting police officers.
