Prey – Fairly mediocre.
Overall the movie is watchable and better than previous instalments in the franchise but that is about it. Continue reading Prey – Fairly mediocre.

It is not a great movie. Not even a good movie really but it is a half decent B-movie horror flick. It sure as hell is better than that woke piece of trash that Netflix has produced with their TV-show adaptation of the franchise but then that does not really say very much. Continue reading Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City – Meh.
With a half decent story/script writer this could have been a quite decent, maybe even good, comedy/horror movie. Sadly it is not. Continue reading Leprechaun Returns – Pretty bad.
Make no mistake about it. This is a B-movie and should really be judged as such. As a B-movie it is a decent enough movie. Continue reading Monsters of Man: B-movie kind of decent.
Well, that was disappointing! Continue reading It Chapter Two: What a disappointing mess!
In short the movie is a mix of heavy metal, horror, violence and psychedelic weirdness and I would say that the audience for this movie is a quite small group of people. I’m not really sure that I am in that group. Continue reading Mandy -Weird, psychedelic and somewhat enjoyable.
Well, I could write that this was a disappointment but, quite frankly, my expectations was not that high to begin with. Hollywood’s remakes of good old classics have been more miss than hit lately. This is a good example of it. Continue reading The Predator: Written by yet another writer with below average intelligence.
Well, when the credits started to roll I cannot say that I felt it had been a waste of time and money. I did indeed have some enjoyment watching this movie. However, it could have been a lot better. Continue reading The Meg: Dragged down by the silly idea of aiming for a PG-13 rating.
I have to say that I do not understand why so many seems to claim it is utter crap. Sure, it is not a great movie but it is not really bad either. To me the worst part of the movie was Tom Cruise. The special effects were enjoyable and the mummy herself, Sofia Boutella, was not bad. Continue reading The Mummy (2017): Not as bad as a lot of people claim.
I really wanted to give this movie a better score but I just could not bring myself to overlook the stupid and crappy story. Continue reading Kong Skull Island: Good movie, crappy script
It is not the best movie in the series but it does not exactly shame the series either. For me, I have to rate my enjoyment of it as above average compared to movies in general. Continue reading Underworld Blood Wars: Quite okay installment in the series.
I expected a visual action feast with a fair amount of gore in it and that is pretty much what I got. It could have been a lot better but it was not really horrendously bad either. Continue reading Resident Evil – The Final Chapter: Good action feast. Script? That’s nitpicking.
Not your average revenge/slasher movie. The plot is simple enough, perhaps a bit illogical at times, but it is wonderfully implemented from a cinematic point of view. Personally I found the movie beautiful. Continue reading Final Girl: Not your average revenge/slasher movie, I liked it.
This is a pretty classical horror movie. If you are a fan of these kind of movies I would say that it is worth watching. If your are not into these kind of movies you are probably going to find it … not so good. […] Continue reading Stung – Okayish horror / comedy.
Anyway, as for the movie. It is a bleak (cheap) shadow of the original. It has absolutely zero of the charm that the original movie had and, most importantly, none of the characters had anything of the charisma that the original characters had. […] Continue reading Poltergeist (2015 Remake) – Cheap shadow of the original.
I found this to be a very enjoyable semi-supernatural high tech thriller. Alex Hunter is back in his role as a super-hero style elite agent and he is thrown into a mission that brings him back to one of his old “hunting grounds”. There are a few threads in Alex Hunter’s history that are tied together in this book and, at least, one rather interesting new one that is begun. […] Continue reading Kraken Rising – Very good semi-supernatural high tech thriller.
If you are looking for a traditional, supernatural, vampire story then look elsewhere. If however, you are looking for an entertaining and somewhat scientifically based horror / apocalypse story then this might just be your cup of tea. […] Continue reading The Strain – Pretty good modern vampire story
Me and my son watched the trailer of this movie when watching the third season of The Walking Dead. The trailer looked quite cool so I decided to get it. Maybe I should hesitated a bit when I saw that it was really cheap on Amazon but I thought, what the heck, it is cheap and horror movies do not seem to have that big an audience these days. Well, unfortunately, the cheap price was well merited. […] Continue reading Frankenstein’s Army – The trailer was cool, the movie … not so much.
Dead Snow is a pretty classical teenage-group-gets-into-big-mess-with-supernatural-beings kind of horror movie. In this particular case a group of teenagers goes for a hike in the Norwegian mountains where they camp in cabin. Not very original of course but what the heck, it is a zombie horror movie so… Continue reading Dead Snow – Pretty funny Norwegian zombie horror flick.
I guess you could say that this movie felt a bit like Friday the 13th meets The Exorcist. Well, I guess that is not entirely fair to The Exorcist since that movie, although being old, is a way better movie than this one. This is not a bad movie but it is no shining star either. It is pretty much what you could expect. A bunch of insanely stupid teenagers boozing and doing insanely stupid and illogical things while a supernatural entity decimates them in various gory ways. […] Continue reading Exeter – Friday the 13th meets The Excorcist
Sharknado 3 by Anthony C. Ferrante on SyFy (CanalSat) My rating: 1 out of 10 stars When Fin and April go to Florida for the summer vacation, strong winds and lots of rain comes to Florida and a Sharknado comes and destroyes Florida. The Sharknado goes to Washington D.C. and sharks falling from the sky. It’s up to Fin and April to stop the Sharknado … Continue reading Sharknado 3 – What a load of utter crap !!!
No Mere Zombie (Deathless #2) by Chris Fox My rating: 6 out of 10 stars Nearly all technology has been wiped out by the sun’s largest coronal mass ejection in history. In its wake comes the zombie apocalypse. The dead have risen, and they are hungry. Yet there are greater threats than the walking dead. The deathless have returned, slumbering in the same Arks that carried … Continue reading No Mere Zombie – Entertaining and a wee bit different zombie story
No Such Thing As Werewolves (Deathless #1) by Chris Fox My rating: 6 out of 10 stars A pyramid predating all known cultures appears without warning. Its discovery throws into question everything we know about the origins of mankind. Inside lies incredible technology, proof of a culture far more advanced than our own. Something dark lurks within, eager to resume a war as old as … Continue reading No Such Thing As Werewolfes – Started off quite good but then became rather meh
Pandorum by Christian Alvart on Cine+ Frisson My rating: 7 out of 10 stars Two crew members are stranded on a spacecraft and quickly – and horrifically – realize they are not alone. Two astronauts awaken in a hyper-sleep chamber aboard a seemingly abandoned spacecraft. It’s pitch black, they are disoriented, and the only sound is a low rumble and creak from the belly of … Continue reading Pandorum – Surprisingly good sci-fi / horror movie.
