Gods of Egypt: Don’t believe the haters of this movie!

When the credits rolled after having watched this movie with my kids I was perplexed. I knew this movie had not received very great ratings and I had heard rumors that some people had even labelled it the worst movie of the year. However, I had liked watching the movie…a lot. Assassin’s Creed: Slightly underwhelming.

l would lie if I said that I did not enjoy this movie. It has plenty of action, a bit of biblical mystery and some science fiction. It is a decently entertaining movie. However, I also felt a bit underwhelmed. It is a nice looking movie with some quite good actions scenes but as a whole it is “just” okay for me. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: Long winded title, excellent movie.

Personally I found this movie to be 2+ hours of excellent entertainment. This is one of these movies where I simply cannot understand how people can give one and two star ratings stating that it is garbage etc. I do not get what these people expected? Maybe they just have to complain? The original Harry Potter books are very much books for children or young adults and so is this movie. It is a highly entertaining story in a magical universe with some adventure, some suspense and a lot of humor. Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s…: Unexpectedly good.

I found this movie pretty much by accident when flicking through the Netflix catalogue. I thought what the heck and started to watch it. My hopes were really not that high. Actually I am not sure I had any hopes at all since I just stumbled on the movie and started to watch it on a whim. What I found was a rather okay and fun movie actually. Continue reading Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s…: Unexpectedly good.

Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children: Quite nice family movie.

Before I start I should perhaps mention that, although I consider this a family movie, it is perhaps a bit on the scary side for the youngest member of the family. Anyway, personally I liked the movie and so did my kids. It did have time travel in it which I, in general, utterly dislike but it is a Tim Burton movie so it was already a foregone conclusion that it would be a wee bit bizarre anyway and it had Eva Green, which is one of my favorites, in it so that kind of made up for the time travel crap. Continue reading Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children: Quite nice family movie.

Big Trouble In Little China: Quite entertaining if you take it for what it really is…a comedy.

Big Trouble In Little China by John Carpenter on Netflix My rating: 7 out of 10 stars When trucker Jack Burton agreed to take his friend Wang Chi to pick up his fiancee at the airport, he never expected to get involved in a supernatural battle between good and evil. Wang’s fiancee has emerald green eyes, which make her a perfect target for an immortal … Continue reading Big Trouble In Little China: Quite entertaining if you take it for what it really is…a comedy.

47 Ronin: Decent but not great adventure/fantasy movie
