Slumberland – Good family movie.
This is how a family movie should be. Entertaining, lots of adventure, fantasy and dreamworlds (literally in this movie). It is really a movie for most ages. Continue reading Slumberland – Good family movie.

The one and a half stars is for the special effects. They were pretty good. The rest of this movie is really bad. Continue reading Thor: Love and Thunder – Seriously? What the f… was this?
This movie was pretty much what I expected or rather hoped for. It was a fun adventure/action rollercoaster plain and simple. This is one of those, rare nowadays, movies that are meant to entertain plain and simple. Continue reading Uncharted – Fun adventure/action rollercoaster.
Why they call it Fantastic Beasts I do not understand. They should call it Boring Political Drama in the Potter Universe instead. Continue reading Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore – Another franchise ruined by Disney.
As a standalone movie I probably would have rated it higher but as a movie in the Kingsman franchise I have to say that it was a disappointment. Continue reading The King’s Man – Somewhat of a disappointment.
This movie is one of those ridiculously silly but quite fun movies. It is a movie that makes no pretense other than to be entertaining. Continue reading Red Notice – Silly but fun.
This is a film that I was on one hand looking forward to watch and on another hand feared to watch. I was really hoping that this movie would be able to reboot the franchise after that abysmal piece of woke shit Ghostbusters (2016) had totally ruined it. Continue reading Ghostbusters: Afterlife – Yeah, almost woke-free.
This was movie is definitely in there vying for the title “best movie that I have watched this year”. Continue reading Dune (2021) – Great movie!
Overall I very much enjoyed this movie. It is a simple super hero and fantasy adventure story with lots of action and special effects and with the single purpose of entertaining the audience that doesn’t fall in the trap of trying to “educate” said audience. Continue reading Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings – Surprisingly good.
To me this was great entertainment. A really nice rollercoaster of adventure with healthy dose of humour and fantasy. Continue reading Jungle Cruise: Great Fantasy Adventure Action.
Well, I have never played the game so I am not burdened with Monster Hunter canon so I have to say that I very much liked this movie. Continue reading Monster Hunter: I really liked this movie.
The first Fantastic Beasts movie was excellent. It was a bright and magical adventure. This one is going down another path and I cannot say that I was overly thrilled by that. Continue reading Fantastic Beasts – The Crimes of Grindelwald: Not really bad but quite dark and sad.
What I wanted was a simple and straightforward action roller coaster and that was pretty much what I got. Continue reading Solo: Quite enjoyable actually
When the credits rolled after having watched this movie with my kids I was perplexed. I knew this movie had not received very great ratings and I had heard rumors that some people had even labelled it the worst movie of the year. However, I had liked watching the movie…a lot. Continue reading Gods of Egypt: Don’t believe the haters of this movie!
If you are set in stone as to what the Pendragon saga should be then watch another movie. If not and you’re up for some nice fantasy action adventure in the Pendragon universe you might like this movie. I did! Continue reading King Arthur – Legend of the Sword: Different and fun Pendragon adventure.
I really wanted to give this movie a better score but I just could not bring myself to overlook the stupid and crappy story. Continue reading Kong Skull Island: Good movie, crappy script
To me this was a fairly decent movie quite adequate for a little Monday evening TV session. It did feel quite a bit like a old western in Asian setting. That is not really bad thing as far as I am concerned. Continue reading Sword of Destiny: Like an old Western in Asian setting.
This is a movie that made me soooo happy that I decided to jump and fork out some money (way too much actually, I’m on a bread and water diet now) for a nice OLED screen. This is another one of those movies that live and die by the visuals. Continue reading The Great Wall: Great visual spectacle.
I found this to be a quite enjoyable family movie derived from the Peter Pan story we all love. I am not really sure why it holds a fairly mediocre rating on most rating sites. It is undeserved as far as I am concerned. Continue reading Pan: Enjoyable family movie
This is kind of a prequel and a sequel to Snow White and The Huntsman. It is not as impressive as the first movie but quite good anyway. I would call it a nice family movie although probably not for the youngest members of the family. Continue reading The Huntsman -Winter’s War: Not as impressive as the Snow White one but quite good anyway.
This is without a doubt a very good family movie. Many people seem to compare it unfavorably with the “original” animated movie from Walt Disney. To me these are quite different movies and should not really be compared. I have not read the book but I have a feeling that this movie follows the book more closely. It is a wee bit darker, more serious and incredibly beautiful to watch. Continue reading The Jungle Book (2016): Definitely a good family movie.
Before I start I should perhaps mention that, although I consider this a family movie, it is perhaps a bit on the scary side for the youngest member of the family. Anyway, personally I liked the movie and so did my kids. It did have time travel in it which I, in general, utterly dislike but it is a Tim Burton movie so it was already a foregone conclusion that it would be a wee bit bizarre anyway and it had Eva Green, which is one of my favorites, in it so that kind of made up for the time travel crap. Continue reading Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children: Quite nice family movie.
This was the most underwhelming Tarzan movie that I have ever seen. A typical product of some Hollywood producer trying to make a “modern” take of Tarzan not really knowing or caring for the Tarzan that Edgar Rice Burroughs created. Continue reading The Legend of Tarzan – Quite underwhelming.
I have to say that I quite enjoyed Tomorrowland despite its way too common mistake of being quite a bit nonsensically preachy to satisfy the current politically correct view of what is “wrong” with the world today. Filtering out those parts this is a quite enjoyable, visually very entertaining, family movie. If you have strong opinions about certain things then you might want to be with your kids when watching this one. Personally I consider my oldest son to be quite capable of making his own opinions and as for the two younger kinds I try to point out the pro’s and con’s and let them grow up to make their own mistakes. Continue reading Tomorrowland -A mix of good and bad.
