The Henry Gallant Saga books 2-4: I have mixed feelings about this series.

I have somewhat mixed feelings about this series. One one hand Henry Gallant himself is very competent and generally a likable character. My main gripe with the series is that politics and the plethora of dumbass, egoistic politicians and businesses men not to mention the fact that a large part, not all of it luckily, of the Admiralty is grossly incompetent. Drow Triumphant: Good ending to the series.

This is the conclusion of the Alison Brownstone series and I’m tempted to say “finally”. The series started off really nice but I have not felt the same satisfaction with the last few books in the series. When Luck Runs Out: A solid entry in the Empire of Bones Saga.

I have to admit that the title made me procrastinate a bit before I dared open this book. Luckily, as far as I am concerned, the title is a wee bit more ominous than the actual story. The Jessica Keller Chronicles: Promising start but on the whole rather mediocre series.

When I started the series I felt it had quite a bit of promise. Some people even compared it to the Honor Harrington series. Well, that it is not. Far from it.
