Overall this was a rather enjoyable read. Solid urban fantasy with a nice mixture of story progression, decent and often fun dialogue and of course plenty of demon ass kicking. I hope this series stays on track and doesn’t go the way of War of the Angels. Continue reading Crucifix – A pretty decent urban fantasy book.
At the end of the book I really didn’t care that much about Katie & Co, I just wanted the book to end so I could start reading something else. Continue reading Personal Demons – Nope again, I give up on this one.
I think this series has promise but it very much depends on what road Anderle takes with the next book in the series. So I guess this one goes on the maybe shelf. Continue reading The Last Witch of Kalhoun Holler – Hmmm, maybe.
Overall a pretty average book. I cannot really find much to say about it. It follows the other six books in the series and it is pretty much in the same style except of course that Angelica has developed a lot since those first books. Continue reading A Torn Veil – Okayish…
After the first book which left me undecided, this one, unfortunately, made my decision go to the negative. Continue reading Dawn and Quartered – Nope, this series did not work out for me.
Bottom line, this read was not really a waste of time but it does end up on my maybe shelf which means that I will have a go at the second book in the series before I make up my mind. Continue reading I’m Glad You’re Dead – The jury is still out on this one.
I have to be honest, the only reason I read this books was because I’ve read the other ten books in the series and, since this was supposed to be the last one, I just wanted to finish of the series. Continue reading Angel Dust – About time this series ended.
Anyway, long story short, I fell behind and thus here we go with some short updates/reviews of my latest reads so I can clean out the to-review shelf and get back on track. Continue reading Latest reads…
This one of the longest, if not the longest, book series that I have been reading and still enjoyed after 20+ books. Continue reading Winter Moon – Not the best in the series but enjoyable nonetheless.
Overall this was a quite enjoyable instalment in the Black Knight Chronicles series. Continue reading In the Still of the Knight – Overall quite enjoyable.
his was an okay book but only just. I honestly think it is time to end this series. Continue reading Halo Breaker – Okay but it is time to end this series.
This is the second single star book that I’ve read this year and I think it is safe to say that it is the last one in this series as well as from this author that I will read. Continue reading The Good Shifter – Good shifter, bad book.
This was the most absurd, uninspired shitty ending I’ve read in a long time. To me it ruined the series. Continue reading Cleanse the World – Crappy ending that pretty much ruined the series.
The first one on the shopping block is The Warrior series by Martha Carr. It’s not a big surprise unfortunately since, when I read Chaos and Gunfire, I thought it was rather abysmal and I ended my review with “…next book better be quite a lot better than this one. If not I’m dropping the series.”. Well, the next one, A FUBAR Kind of Day, … Continue reading I think I’m dropping two series at once, and the author as well.
To me, this was a fun read. I like Jimmy & Co even though it is a lot of fumbling around and I quite like the dialogue, the action, even if Jimmy gets beat up a lot and the story is not too shabby so I guess I’ll stick to this series for a while longer. Continue reading Paint it Black – I quite liked this one.
Bottom line, quite okay book. I enjoyed reading it but I cannot see myself giving it more than an average rating. Continue reading Burn The World – Okay fifth book in the series.
I have to say that this series is improving. Sure, Jimmy is still bungling his way through the world but he is improving. Even if Jimmy and Greg sometimes make think of old Laurel and Hardy short movies I’m starting to like them more and more Continue reading Knight Moves – This series is improving.
Wow, from a really good start this series is really going downhill, like going down the drain type of downhill. Continue reading Chaos and Gunfire – From a good start this series is really going downhill.
Overall, the story has quite some promise I would say. Unfortunately for every good part there is a not so good part. Continue reading Back in Black – Okayish but I’m still a bit undecided.
This is another one of those books where I cannot make up my mind if I really thought it was a worthwhile read or not Continue reading Hard Day’s Knight – Another one that I’m undecided on.
For me the jury is still out on this one. I really cannot make up my mind whether I like it or not. Continue reading Hidden – The Jury is still out on this one.
Well, this was a quite decent instalment in the series. The action is cool and her torch friends, especially the bad-ass-attitude one is a good addition to Lyssa’s character. Continue reading Light the World – Quite decent instalment in the series.
I have to say that this instalment in the series was better than I feared. Continue reading An Immortal’s Pain – Better than I thought at first.
Here are the last four books that are on my backlog. They are all parts of book series that I read but that I have not managed to get time to fully review and since they are, for the most part, more of the same in each series I’m not sure I have that much to say about them anyway. Continue reading Short backlog clean up.
