The Lone World – Discovery, mystery and military sci-fi fusion.
It is a good book. As always Christopher Nuttall produces quality writing. Continue reading The Lone World – Discovery, mystery and military sci-fi fusion.

All in all a very good book that has a lot of things to like, at least as far as I am concerned, in it. Continue reading Sword of Mars – Another good one.
This, the 7th book in The Last Hunter series, is a good piece of military science fiction. It does not really match up to the Empire Rising series of which I recently read the last instalment in that series but it is still a good book. Continue reading Shield of Humanity – Good military sci-fi.
This is another five star book. It is great military action both in space and on the ground but most of it is truly great space battles with large fleets duking it out. Continue reading Shadow Strike – Yet another great book in the series.
Well, this is going to be a short review since this book, the 12th instalment in the series, is really more of the same which, in this case, is not a bad thing. Continue reading Song of Darkness – More of the same which is good.
This is the 15th book in the Empire Rising series and it is the third straight five star book in that series. At least for me but then maybe I am a bit biased since this series is my favorite type of reading. Continue reading Into the Breach – Another great book in this series.
Unfortunately I suspected that this installment in The Last Hunter series would not be my cup of tea and I was right. Continue reading The Grand Conspiracy – Not my cup of tea.
So since I have some time between the preparations this Sunday it is time for a backlog clean-up so I do not start Christmas with an already large backlog. Continue reading Before Christmas clean-up.
Voice of Mars (Starship’s Mage, #3).By Glynn Stewart. My rating ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ out of 5 stars. YOU CAN NEVER GO HOME When accusations of piracy and mass murder are laid against his homeworld, Damien Montgomery is sent to resolve the crisis. As counter-accusations fly and an old flame re-enters his life, the newest Hand of the Mage-King of Mars finds himself in the midst … Continue reading Voice of Mars – Another four star book.
I am quite happy that I finally started to read this series despite being hesitant about it as I wrote in my review of the first book in the series. Continue reading Hand of Mars – Another good sci-fi/fantasy book in the series.
Sadly this series did not end well. Continue reading The Forgotten Empire Books 7 & 8 – Sadly this series did not end well.
Overall, this is a solid four star book and this series goes onto my to-be-continued shelf. Continue reading Starship’s Mage – I quite liked this book.
This is another good book from one of my favorite authors, Christopher G. Nuttall. Continue reading All for All – Good book in the Cast Adrift series.
Most of this book is actually quite good. However, this is nevertheless the first 3 out of 5 star book in this series. The others have all been 4 out of 5 stars. Continue reading Command Authority – Going down the drain of political BS.
This is a great second book in the Dakotan Confederacy series. It went straight to 5 out of 5 stars for me. Continue reading To Stand Defiant – Great second book in the Dakotan Confederacy series.
This is a very good book. Not quite five stars but a solid four. Continue reading Admiral’s Oath – Very good military sci-fi.
Got home from my two week holiday last weekend. Hence the somewhat unusual featured photo of this post. Obviously I was still reading (when not in the water of course) so I have accumulated a bit of a backlog. So here’s some backlog clean-up. Continue reading Holiday catch-up reviews.
I have to say that I quite enjoyed reading these three books, The Riss Gamble, The Riss Proposal and The Riss Survival. Continue reading The Riss Series books 1 to 3 – Not bad.
This book very much continues the story straight from where the first one left of. Unfortunately it is not only the story itself that continues but also the rubbish science and overly simplistic handling of pretty much everything from mutinies to technological advances to military action and diplomatic alliances. Continue reading Phantoms – Too much young adult for my taste.
This book was a disappointment for me. This book is 700+ pages of slow moving overcomplicated plot with so many different characters, each described and talking, talking, talking for hundreds and hundreds of pages, that it is almost unreadable. Continue reading Crown of Slaves – Disappointing, slow and way too long.
This was weird reading. I am almost ashamed to say that I found these books rather fun to read despite the fact that, in terms of science fiction these are really bad books. At the best books can be called science fantasy and young adult ones at that. Continue reading From Far Beyond books 1 to 4 – Bad but amazingly enough somewhat fun read.
This is still a good book in the Backyard Starship series but it is not the best one. But then that is probably a lot due to my personal preferences. Continue reading Fields of Fire – Good but not the best in the series.
It is time for another backlog clean-up. I have been rather busy lately and have not really had time to sit down in front of a PC to write on my blog. That has not stopped me from reading of course which created a bit of a backlog and since I kind of promised myself that I would make an effort to keep up it is time for a backlog clean-up. Continue reading Time for another backlog clean-up.
Overall, this is another good instalment in the series. It as a light, action filled, sometimes hilarious space adventure. A fun and enjoyable read plain and simple. Continue reading Blackest Ocean – Good latest entry in the series.
