Despite some of my reservation this series is really a well written and very entertaining urban fantasy series. I liked this one more than the previous but all of the books so far have been read worthy and most of them more than that. This book falls in the “more than that” category.
I finally got around to reading it a while ago and I have to say that it was a real joy to read even though it is not my favorite genre. The world building, the descriptions of the scenery and event, the characters etc. All of it is simply one level, at least, above most of the books out there.
The books have a lot of the stuff “required” for a good urban fantasy series in them. A likable and sharp tongued hero. A bunch of despicable villains and monsters. A hero entourage of colorful friends (well sometimes “friends” may be stretching it though…). And of course a lot of action.
