It Chapter Two by Andy Muschietti on Ultra HD Blu-ray
My rating: ⭐ out of 5 stars
27 years after overcoming the malevolent supernatural entity Pennywise, the former members of the Losers’ Club, who have grown up and moved away from Derry, are brought back together by a devastating phone call.
Well, that was disappointing!
I really should write posts from my backlog of book reviews rather than waste time on this crud but then, this is a hobby site after all and I feel like writing about this movie. It will be a short post because this movie is … crap.
I actually quite liked the first remake of It. This one, well it feels like one of those sequels from the 70’s and 80’s where every bloody successful movie, even remotely successful, got a sequel which, with very few exceptions, where just a blatant attempt to cash in on the success of the first one and abysmally bad.
In It Chapter Two it appears that the script writer just threw together a bunch of flashbacks, a number of disjointed scenes (that no one apparently could be bothered to script together into a coherent story) and a shitload of CGI into the mixer.
The result is, as you can imagine, really bad. I am usually pretty resistant to mediocre scripts when there’s enough cool CGI in there to make it fun to watch anyway. This movie however, shatters that resistance big time.
It is just a mess. There’s no real story in there, the acting is mediocre at best, it’s not funny, it’s not scary it’s just incredibly boring and crappy.
Well, there you have. I kind of had to get that of my chest. However wrote this crap, do the audience a favor and find another job!
