Okay, this is obviously going to be a rant so the easily offended might want to leave now. I just have to write off my frustration with the asswipes running Rotten Tomatoes. The name of RT is really well chosen since the site is truly rotten. I’m not even going to bother to link to that crap site since I do not want to be responsible for giving them any clicks.

I have taken a stab at RT quite a few times in various movie reviews. There are just so much wrong with RT that it is unbelievable. They are the movie rating world’s fake news site numero uno.

Let’s first look at their rating system. When sites like IMDb and TMDb gives you what the actual audience rated the a movie as RT have a bunch of official “critics” which makes up the official rating of any movie. The problem is that in order to NOT receive a “rotten” rating at RT a movie has to get a positive rating of 60% or more. So if it lands at 59%, which is clearly a majority of positive ratings, then RT calls the movie rotten. Not average or fair or something sensible but rotten. This is just rubbish to begin with.

Now comes the really bad part. These so called critics are utterly useless. They are made up of culture elites and SJW retards with a clear political agenda. If a movie is declared rotten at RT then often it is a movie worthwhile looking into and if it gets rave reviews from the “critics” then it is cause for further investigation before opening the wallet since there is a big chance that the movie is crap. There are numerous examples like the big fail the Ghostbusters remake, latest season of Doctor Who, Captain Marvel and so on and so forth. I can go on forever. Basically any movie that forgets about entertaining it’s audience in favor of political preaching (leftist of course) gets a good rating by the critics at RT.

Up until now you could drill down to the audience reviews of the movie and get a more accurate idea of whether the movie is indeed good or bad. For obvious reasons this created a big discrepancy between the official rating and audience rating at RT as well as a few controversies lately that obviously angered the SJW mob.

So someone at RT thought this was embarrassing, which it was of course, and decided to do something about it. Now, they could have done something sensible (who am I kidding) like culling the critics and get some objective critics on-board.

This is RT however so of course this didn’t happen. Instead they chose a “solution” that is just so moronic, not to mention a slap in the face of the audience, that it is quite frankly unbelievable.

They chose to introduce a “verified” audience ratings and only the verified ones counts against the average audience rating presented on the site. Anyone else is just wasting their time. To be verified you have to have purchased the movie tickets at one of their associated ticket selling sites.

Apart from the fact that this is done only for them to be able to control the opinions of people (opinion censoring) this is just so unbelievably moronic that … well I cannot find words actually.

For starters, it excludes anyone buying the tickets directly at the theater or by any other means than via their three associated sites. Then it excludes anyone watching the movie from disk or via any other media. Nice work assholes, that probably excluded a good part of the audience in the US alone. And pray tell me, do you sell “tickets” to TV-shows as well? Oh, you didn’t think about that? Bloody retards!

Then of course we have the rest of the world. Well screw them! Who cares? No one of the asswipes at RT apparently. The rest of the world, who certainly will not buy tickets via any of RT’s sites, will, from now on, not be considered.

As I said, RT just went from really, really bad to a bloody clusterfuck. This is just so stupid that it defies explanation. Either the RT management consists of retarded baboons with chronic constipation or they simply do not care as long as they can continue with their political agenda. Probably both actually.

Okay, rant over. I feel much better now.

One response to “I didn’t think Rotten Tomatoes could get any worse. I was wrong.”

  1. Yeah, when a site starts doing things to cut out the actual users, its days are numbered…
