As you know if you have been using Trakt to track which TV-shows that you watched they made a hugely botched up upgrade to what they call Trakt v2. In the process they screwed over not only the users of the site but also all the app developers since the new API was not compatible with the old one.
Today the Watchlist app was finally upgraded to support the new API of Trakt.tv v2. A quick spin around the app reveals that everything seems to work again including some stuff, like editing your personal lists, which does not yet work on the Trakt site itself.
I still find it unbelievable how botched up this upgrade have been. I have heard several rumors that the old site was pretty much on the verge of collapsing and something had to be done but they must really have been desperate and they totally missed the train on how to communicate this to users. Almost nothing worked from day one and even today almost a month later major elements of the site is still not working. I am really happy that the Watchlist app got back on-line since now I can use the service as I used to again.
Having said that, I must also say that the new site are staring to shape up and it does indeed look better than the old one. The parts that actually works do work reasonably well. They still have a lot of work to do and I hope that they have not driven away too many users and app developers with this debacle.
